Mercy House Outreach Ministry
Outreach Program to the Less Fortunate of Our Parish and Its Surrounding Community
Divine Mercy Parish partnered with TASK (Trenton Area Soup Kitchen) in 2007 to provide meals to the less fortunate in the parish’s surrounding community. Finding a greater need among those being served, our parishioners, the late Charles Cook, Jr., Ann Brodowski and Michael Knowles wanted to begin a ministry to serve those individuals and others. Out of this idea, Mercy House was founded on January 5, 2008.
Mercy House currently provides food and household items to families and individuals of our parish and its surrounding community. Through these services we act to fulfill Christ’s mission of caring for the poor and others in need as we seek to reveal God’s mercy to all who come there. Mercy House also works with other community and social concerns organizations to provide access to social services, immigration support and any other needs that may be encountered among the individuals we serve. We believe that Mercy House is a visible sign of Christ’s teachings. In the spirit of our Franciscan heritage, we preach the word of God and, only if necessary, we use words.
At this time, there is no collection and/or distribution of clothing. An announcement will be made when that resumes.

Mercy House Food Drive
Each month we feature a new food item and/or personal hygiene item as a suggested donation from our parish family to Mercy House. We prayerfully ask all parishioners to assist us in our parish outreach ministry to Mercy House.
Not a parishioner, but interested in donating? We gladly welcome any and all assistance in this important outreach effort.
We are always in need of food and hygiene products and we welcome your donations.
Food is distributed on the third Saturday of each month to needy parishioners, needy families of our parish community and to the homeless. We also often get visitors throughout the week who find themselves in need and, if we can help them, we do!!
Month of January Donation Suggestions:
